A life in dairy - Jan Raleigh

. 07 May 2021 06:14 AM
This week we spoke to Timboon farmer Jan Raleigh – a genuine pioneer of the dairy industry.

Back in 1983 she was one of the first women in western Victoria to take over a farm – and then one of the first in Australia to convert her herd into Australian Reds.

Lifting production from around 50kg of butter fat per cow each year to more than 250kg, Jan officially retired earlier this year – after being recognised as one of the country’s best breeders, including an award for the highest BPI in her last year in dairy.

Jan’s a great character and loves to chat – watch here:

All the best for your well-deserved retirement, Jan.
