Nestle has promised up to $US10m as the first participant in a new project to make American dairying carbon-neutral, or better, by 2050. The Net Zero initiative, backed by industry agencies, will focus on science and on-farm trials to develop new practices.
… ALSO: The NZ and Singaporean stock exchanges have initiated a deal to list NZ dairy derivatives for global trading. A non-binding agreement has been signed between the two entities.
… PLUS: In NZ, Fonterra has lifted the mid-point of its forecast farmgate milk price range to $NZ6.80/kgMS, giving a forecast range of $NZ6.30 - $NZ7.30/kgMS, while reporting recovering demand from China – especially for WMP.
… AND: Danone is moving to sell the rest of its stake in Japan’s Yakult Honsha Co. The maker of Activia yogurt is starting the sale of its remaining 6.61% stake, worth about $US570m.
